# Centro Latam Digital #  Centro Latam Digital (CLD) is an independent, nonprofit research center that produces rigorous and relevant evidence-based research. We believe that empirical evidence should inform and strengthen the design of digital policies. We generate knowledge about digital policies that promote fair and inclusive social and economic development in Latin America. Our work is based on the belief that new digital technologies are a crucial tool to facilitate new human interactions that drive a more equitable development of society in Latin America. We recognize that the lack of effective access to digital technologies deepens existing inequalities. We also believe that these same technologies can be used as a mechanism to invade privacy, discriminate against individuals and communities, and infringe human rights. This is why our work is based on the conviction that research must take justice, transparency and inclusion in the use of data as a transversal axis.
