**Welcome to the Datasphere Observatory!**
The Datasphere Observatory is a free open-access online platform built from the data that underpins the [[2025 Datasphere Atlas]]. The aim of this resource is to support the development and understanding of the data governance field by identifying and showcasing the work of actors and initiatives from around the world.
The long-term goal is to serve the wider community by facilitating connections that help people convene collaborate and promote responsible data-sharing narratives and encourage innovative practices across typically siloed communities and sectors.
Navigate the Datasphere Observatory through any of the five major categories: [[People and Communities]], [[Planet and Sustainability]], [[Norms and Trust]], [[Economy and Development]], [[Infrastructure and Technology]] or select one of the growing list of topics such as [[Artificial Intelligence]], [[Gender]], and [[Democracy]]. You can also search or explore the names of individual organizations and funders working on data or data governance.
On each page, the interactive graph on the right can help you explore the connections between organizations and topics, as well as identify potential opportunities to bring people together to help responsibly unlock the value of data for all.
